Camo minkee vs. fleece
 

I have a nephew expecting in March... He is an avid hunter.... does anyone know if camouflage minkee is that much different than fleece. I know it normally would be, but pictures don't show the little minkee bumps... has anyone had any experience with it... thanks

As far as warmth and cuddliness, I prefer minkee, although fleece is much easier to work with. I've noticed that if I have a basket of quilts sitting around, the ones that are always chosen first for a cool evening are the ones with minkee backs.

I think you would find the minkee is so much more cuddly than a fleece.
Perhaps the better word would be more silky?
As for bumps, you can get different finishes ... bumps, bumpless ... and some are longer "haired"! :)

I like the feel of minky but fleece is pretty cuddly too. For a baby blanket the minky will probably be nice because it is soo soft

The camo minkee does not have the bumps or "dots" as they are called. The minkees that do not have the dots such as camo, animal prints and a lot of other prints on the market today are easier to work with than the minkee dots, they do not stretch as much. Fleece is also easy to work with.

Minkee stretches a lot more than fleece does.

I'm working with Minkee as a quilt back for a twin sized quilt at the moment, and it's very slippery on the wrong side of the fabric. I spray basted and pinned the crap out of it and it still slides around quite a bit. I am ending up repinning each row of blocks as I get to them. It's working out, but it's a pain.
