I recently bought a large box full of fabric for a bargain price. There are approximately 30 yards of heavier woven camoflague fabric in three different patterns, 2 blue, 1 green. Our quilt group is having a craft fair booth in November and I need some ideas to put the fabric to use to help raise funds for our projects. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Many thanks! |
I have used heavier woven material in quilts before. You just need to use a very thin batting to counteract the weight, so it doesn't get too heavy. A flannel sheet would be perfect batting.
And in November, would be a perfect time to sell a camo quilt. Hunters would love it. |
Another idea is to create a blanket roll/duffle bag.
Basically it is a rectangular piece with magnetic close on the short end and drawstrings on the long end. So when you bring the short ends up and close them and pull the drawstrings on the open ends, it is a duffle bag. This would be great for covering a sleeping bag, great for college kids to bring laundry home (oh, no), sew pockets into and for a hunter to store his stuff in. |
Always make a "Man Apron", could be a great X-mas gift, potholders, or even fishing vests.
Good Luck and Happy Sewing !! :) |
Smaller drawstring bags for hunters to carry their items.. knifes, water bottles , etc...
|
I did pillowcases one year. They were a big hit!

How about a bow tuck purse for the girls?
|
Booksacks with rope drawstring would be cute!

water bottle carriers, lap top bags, aprons, lap quilts, cushions, have fun

My youngest son paintablls, and he has a really neat duffle bag that is camo! I think they would be really nice for paintballers, hunters....the ladies could buy as gifts for hubbys and sons.
