1/4 YD. is 9"; 3/8 yd. is 13 1/2".

She might be 4 1/2' short, bu t WE do not know th size of her hexie template. So the quarter yard might be okay. Even if the hexie is over 9" unfinished, the size could be reduced to make use of the 1/4 yards.

Welcome to QB. 1/4 yd. equals 9 inches by WOF ( fabric width).

3/8 yd. equals 13.5 inches by WOF

That's quite a difference, especially over 22 fabrics. (99 inches)
