If you are referring to the thumbnail program - it is the "Embrilliance Thumbnailer" Quite a few sites AnntheGran, Designs in Machine Embroidery, etc) sell it (probably just Google it) and it has been out for maybe a year or so - I love it. Just be sure to set your list view to "Medium Icons" and it works like a charm, including the files stored on CD.

Sue,

You will need software to see your designs on your computer. I use Embird. It is a well reviewed and well liked program. Embird is an editing program that will allow you to convert most designs from other formats to your .pes format. It will also unzip .zip files if you don't know how to do it on your computer, plus a bunch of other things. secretsof.com sells it as does other sites, but I like this one. I download to a file on my computer and copy whatever designs I am going to sew out to a jump (flash) drive. Too many designs on your jump drive will slow down loading onto your machine. I only store designs on my hard drive which I have automatically backed up. Hope this helps. Ruth

I am finding the terminology understandable, but the actual application flummoxing!

I download a lot from Embroidery Library, and they will tell you when you purchase whether the file is "zipped" or not. It's just another step to "unzip" it and the instructions are on the top of the page, under HELP. You want to save it to a file where you remember where it is (I have a special file for downloaded designs) and from there transfer it to the memory stick, and into your machine. Perhaps your dealer will be willing to help you with this! Good luck!

I am finding a lot of quilters are incorporating embroidery into their quilts and they are beautiful. So don't feel bad asking questions here, you did the right thing. I also learned from the answers.
My biggest lesson is to have the customizing program for the machine, sold extra. Then make a folder on your computer for the downloaded designs, then put them on the stick.
So, thanks for asking.

do you have an ultimate box or one of the other brands of reader writer boxes? When I download from the net I need the box to be able to open the designs. Google Ultimate box. Pm me and I will try to walk you through the process. Don't give up. You'll be amazed at all the free designs.

Go to www.sewforum.com and join for free designs.

I have a Brother SE 400, PE 770, and Quattro 2. for each of these machines, I download the pes design onto my computer, open with WinZip, save onto a file in my computer then save onto the thumb drive when I want to sew them out on the embroidery machine. I love it! It is loads of fun this hobby!!

Thank you for all your help. I have successfully downloaded and stitched out a design from Embroidery Library, and will now look into working out how to unzip those designs that come zipped. Will check out Winzip and will visit the sites suggested by you all. You are right, this is fun, scary at first, but fun.
Sue
