My SIL used to do graphic design. She had pics that she has done hanging around her house. I've been trying to figure out a quilt design for her. (she can be very fussy). I am wondering if it's possible to take a copy of one of her pics and make it into a quilt?
|
Yes I would say so. I would try to graph the picture out and break it down to easy squares triangles ect.
|
I've done it several times using photographs, clip art from the internet, etc., so it can be done with one of her graphics. PM me if you need any info or have any questions. It will make a dynamic gift.

Sure! You can either piece it, applique it or use a combination of the two :D:D:D

I've seen some gorgeous ones at quilt shows that look identical to the picture itself. It's all on the details.
Sounds like a fun project to do. |
I'm a little nervous about giving them something like this again. I spent 3 months making them an afghan in their wedding colors for their wedding. I actually shed tears when I finished it! They have been married for 9 yrs and it's still in the plastic bag in the bottom of their closet!
|
Momo, you may want to re-think making them something else. There have been a lot of posts on the topic of giving things to people and them going unused, hurt feelings etc.
|
If the afghan is still in the closet in a plastic bag, I would not bother making anything else hand made for them.
Give them a fruit and cheese basket instead! Save your creative sewing time for someone who truly appreciates it! |
Thank you all.

Fruit basket is good. A gift card to her favorite store or craft shop, beautifully wrapped and presented.
Save your artistic lovelies for someone else who will use it to death and love it as long as it lasts. I think we've all done something like that and regretted it every time we remembered all the work we put into something. |
