I fell in love with this quilt 2 yeas ago. Its been saved to my hard drive waiting for me the learn how to quilt.
I was wondering if I could use the tube quilt method to make it. Instead of using a contrasting fabric could I just use more 2.5" strips. Like a jelly roll!
I know that the quilt in the picture has strips that are different widths (Im not feeling that cocky yet)

Thanks for the help.

My suggestion is to use scraps and do a test block or two. & see if you like the look.

It would be beautiful using 2 1/2" strips. There is no reason you couldn't do it with the tube method. It will have a different look to it, but it will be beautiful. Do a couple sample blocks and see how you like them. Good luck!

Gorgeous quilt!! I just saved it to my "to do" section...thanks :)

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this using the tube method. I think that's a good suggestion to use some scraps and make a sample first, though.

Let us know if you use the tube method and post some pics.

beautiful quilt! Maybe you'll discover a 'new' method!

It is tube until the sashing strips. You would need to manulipilate the sashing to get the look in the picture. But is mostly tube for the center square block. Although you could cut the sashing down the middle and put the same fabric on either side and it would look virtually the same.

OMGosh Holice your right. So simple, I was just going to make the tubes and call it done....but with a little bit more work it would look pretty close.
Thanks so much. I have such a problem with thinking outside the box.

It is the sashing that makes the design interesting but just think of the tube extending down to the center of the sashing and you will be ok. It will take a bit of arranging but donable.
