Can it be glued?
Ordered a template from F&P, it arrived scrunched in my mailbox...I opened slowly ans sure enough one of three was broken in half. Called and the set will be replaced...no proof of breakage required..fine with me, but in the meantime as I looked at the broken template....clean break...had anyone ever successfully "glued" one back together again or like Humpty Dumpty....should I just toss it. And wait for new one. I mentioned there should be a stamp put on envelope... Do not bend. Btw...I did notice that their template is thinner plexi than others I have....will see.....

Since it is already broken, you certainly can't hurt it if try to glue it back together. I would say g ahead and try, then just make sure you fit the pieces together exactly, to make sure there aren't any "off" edges.

If the template material is acryllic, there's a special acryllic glue that actually dissolves or melts the material to form a bond. Locally we have a TAPS plastic that carries it. But you could probably find the name of this glue on google.

Since a replacement is on the way, I would wait it the new ones. It will be a few days and you will have a accurate ruler. Trying to glue the old one is asking for inaccurate piecing. No matter what you do, the measurements will be off because of the additional glue. Use the new ones.

The break will make a bump in your straight edge when glued.

here's a recent thread on the subject http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...r-t246090.html

One of my rulers broke, and I used clear packing tape, and it worked out great.

Read the info in the past thread...then I tried - rather daughter did it for me - super glue....it was a clean "snap" so it matched perfectly...let it dry overnite....seems to be fine...no lumps, bumps.......so when new set arrives I will have two....now to buckle down and do the wheel pattern I had seen on tv that prompted this purchase to begin with.
