Can I get some input, please?
I just got some FQ sets and one is very woodsy and manly and I think I want to make a table runner with it for my bf. The motif on one fabric is some large deer - if I fussy cut them, they'll be roughly 6" square. Any pointers to a block pattern that would suit such a large center square? Most of what I've seen uses a 3.5" center. I can kind of see this in my head, but any suggestions would be most welcome!

Any pattern that has a 6 or 6.5 inch pieced block can be substituted for your fussy cut deer. Here is one:

What if you use black sashing and frame the 6" sqaures?

Make a nine patch with picture centre block. Now cut the outside line oneinch from seam the rotate and do the same
I did this by mistake and I wanted to keep the centre block. You need to cut 2 and then sew back on. Then cut ne5t 2 . You could cut first two then swop with another block or fun.. |
I think that'll be the general idea. I have some nice blenders that go with the deer fabric.

The BQ patterns by Maple Island Designs uses 12.5" squares. Could you use one of these patterns and adjust the sizes? The BQ patterns are great for showcasing fussy-cut motifs. www.mapleislandquilts.com

Well, now the BF says he wants a pillow so I'm rethinking the whole thing! And waiting for my new fussy cut rulers to arrive!
