I've made lots of quilts from recycled shirts. Because I was buying them at a thrift store, I usually went for the 100% cotton, but if it was a fun print or a color I didn't have, I got a blend. All items had been washed, so no problems. Just look the garment over carefully to check for worn spots and stains, especially elbows & underarm areas.

Friends... what wonderful thoughts!! Yes, the shirts have all been washed many times... and I had not thought of looking for worn spots...so important!! The pilling is my concern... but also hadn't thought of using a cooler iron! When I look for shirts at garage sales and/or thrift shops, I always go for the 100% cotton, too, but these shirts are special so I want to use them all! Thank you friends for your insight! Now to decide the pattern!!!???
