I would like to know if anyone here uses the strip stick...and if its worth it.

I would try to press it out with a steam iron before doing any ripping. Sometimes a little bit of stretching helps.

Yep! That's what I would do.

I use mine a lot. You can use it to press seams open or to one side. You get straight seams every time no matter which end you sew from.

Actually if you had the strip stick you could probably straighten the whole thing out by just repressing. I use mine when I have to press long straight seams like that. http://thestripstick.com/

Couldn't you just use a piece of PVC with terry cloth draped over it?

or you can do the lazy way that I confess I might, depending on how noticeable my soluution would be - trim some off each side to make it as square as possible, quilt and bind. Sometimes 'good enough' actually is.

Hope I don't get drummed off the board by the quilt police for my heretical suggestion. lol

That's what I would do.......and then move on. Life is too short.

Dina

I agree. You could put a couple of intentional wonky purple borders on it going in different directions and it would look even cuter than it already is.

I think that is an outstanding idea! What I have done so far is mark the sides so that the 2" squares appear straight, then I planned to cut it off and, if it doesn't fold up exactly squarely, the receiver will probably not realize it's cause it's wider at the top than the bottom. I will seriously investigate cutting it into squares, tho, before I finish it.

I would rip out one seam in the center, turn one piece counter clockwise and sew it...might not work but worth a try. Its only one seam

Lovely quilt! The colors are great. Hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.
