I would soak it in a sink of oxyclean and dawn dishsoap over night. the dawn will loosen fibers so that the stain will come out. You may have to do this twice Then rub a lemon on the stain and let it dry in the sun

I made a quilt for my 1st grandson. After they fed him carrots he upchucked on the quilt. I told them to wash it with oxyclean and hang it on the line and stain came out. Good luck which ever you try.

You have a ton of advice, so let us know how it works out. I'm definitely in the wash it and gift it camp.....as long as it's clean it will be just fine.
|
Can you replace that area even if you have to applique the pieces in?
|
Good luck, I hope you get it out, if not appliqué over it and gift it. It's a gift from your heart, hand made and will be cherished no matter what. After trying some of the stain removal methods the quilt will be more sanitary than anything else the child will receive.

I didn't see this in the previous posts, but I think it was here on QB, that some suggested using Goop, which is an inexpensive hand grease removing product sold in the automotive aisle. I haven't had stains on any quilts of mine, however I keep a small tub next to the washing machine for my DH collars and mystery stains. I've yet to find a stain it hasn't removed, with no fading or negative reactions to any fabric I've used it on.

I have had multiple dogs and fostered dogs for years. There's very little about poop, pee or vomit that I haven't encountered. The best product I've found is called Eco88. You can buy it online and it's amazing. I had a poop stain in my spare bedroom that had been there for years. I put the Eco88 on it, went to answer the phone, talked for 1/2 hour or so. When I went back, I couldn't find where the stain had been. Its amazing. It's an enzyme product and so has to be sprayed on and allowed to sit for a while to work. No scrubbing involved.

If you are unable to remove the stain, would it be possible to applique something over the stain? Also, did the stain soak thru to the back also?

I just ordered kids n pet carpet cleaner. It got great reviews. I have a cat that had been abandon. He was in very poor healht when he was rescued. He did not know how to use a litter box. I just got my carpets cleaned from his accidents. I hope this works!

There is a product called Awesome. I buy it at the dollar store. We used it to get out those stains that our late kitty used to leave. It really worked.
