I've seen a tutorial for this block somewhere....can't remember....it was a free pattern/tutorial (it looks like the D4P), maybe someone has seen this and can help me with a link, that would be awesome!!! Thanks a lot :)

I think I've seen a method for the Arrowhead block done by member Anita Grossman Solomon.

I just looked at that last night - glad someone could help you - I wouldn't have been able to provide the link.

A very interesting block to make. Our sew ing group made this one and we were all intrigued as to the process and the end result.

Enjoy making it.

I just looked at that last night but the one I saw wasn't called 'Arrowhead' and I may be mistaken but I think it was here on the 'board that I saw it. It was some kind of variation of a 4-patch.

If you're wanting the D4P verson ... it's called Disappearing 4 Patch with a Twist.

It was posted on the QB not too long ago ... not sure whether as a Main, Photo or Tutorial.
Or you can Google and come up with lots of links for it.

It is a disappearing 4patch with cutting in middle then twisting each section .i have just finished one on a baby quilt.
What is your query.

Yes, that is the name of the block. They are fun to make. We had a demo at our quilting group and I came home and made 12 in no time.

Here is Jenny's tutorial on how to make the block http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA-10A_Uc6k

after reading this thread, i think of the phrase "all roads lead to Rome". Perhaps another good name for this block ;-)

Think I saw it on etsy.com.

It is also known as the amazing 3 cut block and is very fast and simple to do.

I found the arrowhead block on Quiltmaker and really like it, but reading it confused me.
At the beginning it says to trim the 2 blocks to 8X8. At the end it says to trim to 9X9????
I would make a test block first.

Latrinka 06-20-2013 08:03 AM

I've seen it more than once, I think someone on the board posted a tute on it, very pretty block!

Anita has a Craftsy class called Traditional Blocks Made Simple. I just finished watching it last night and it is excellent. The class includes the Arrowhead.

The size is correct. You are using TWO fabric squares 8x8 and, combined, they produce the 9x9 block. :)

caspharm 06-20-2013 11:35 AM

It is a great looking block.

pollyjvan9 06-21-2013 07:12 AM

I have been looking for this pattern also. Couldn't remember where I had seen it. I think I am going to use shirt fabrics.
