I found a pic on the web of a block I want to do. I've got the parts drawn out and cut but I'm just not sure the best way to put it together. This is what the block looks like

and here is what I have so far. I thought that doing the end pieces and the middle part was the way to go but THEN I have a V shape that I have to piece somehow. Its probably some easy solution but I am just NOT seeing it! Thanks!

One suggestion I read somewhere here is to use paper first to try what you think will work. That way you don't ruin your fabric or have to rip anything out. It looks like a really neat pattern and I will follow this thread to see what someone with more experience comes up with.

I would make all of the blocks the size of the upper left green block. Wish I could draw a picture to show you what I mean. Maybe somebody could explain it better.

This block is a five patch. Get some graph paper, or draw your own, five blocks across and five blocks down. You will have some HST blocks and some solid blocks. I can make this block in about 15 minutes that way.
I don't know what size block you are making, but send me a PM and I'll send you the math & directions.

I think that there are some Y seams there. but I don't know for sure. good luck I know someone will know how to do it.

I think you need some more half square triangles in the print :D

k9dancer that was what I was trying to say, thanks for the help.

If you don't want to do any y seams a couple of partial seams where you go back later to finish them works.

In quilterscache it shows all squares and hst's:

Looks a lot easier done this way. I'm pretty sure that's the only way I'd ever get it done! :-D :-D
