I have a new friend who is about to be 93-yes, 93. She and I click like we have known one another for all my life. We have been working on perfecting a basket pattern she had done when she was fifteen. Tonight she called and asked me to cut out the pieces and she would handpiece each block-enough for a queen bed. We are going to work on this quilt together and I am so thrilled I had to share. I am so blessed to have her! :-)

Treasure every moment with her because you never know when it will be the last time.

I love those older ladies. In my home-care nuring, hospice work I get to know so many of them, and It's a true pleasure to visit with them. I can't tell the corporate office how much I like it, or they may not keep paying me. It's pretty special that she is sharing her talent with you. What a keepsake!

Thanks for encouraging me-Letta is such a wonder--lives alone and drives everywhere. A more determined lady you will never find. I love her so much and she is an inspiration to me every day.

I too have a relationship with a senior lady I met when she was 88 years old. She's now 90 and has been teaching me the fine art of hand quilting. We get together 2-3 times per week, and are now working on quilts for donation.

It's also very interesting to listen to her talk about her 'younger' years and how things 'used' to be! As with my Mom, who is now gone, I will always treasure these times together!

That is awesome. It's be so good for our hearts to see her working away on it--and you two together.

My grandma was my biggest quilting fan... I miss her.

That is great. She has 78 years of experience and knowledge to pass on to you. I bet it is as much fun for her as it is for you.

Treasure every moment and learn as much as you can. You both are blessed.

You are so lucky. It's not easy to find a friend you can click with. Especially one who quilts. Treasure that quilt.
