DogHouseMom 05-14-2012 04:19 PM

Oh dear!! I can't even see any metal through the rust.

Someone will buy it thinking "great side table".

I live in the south and these bases are seen in about every rural yard with flower pots on them or used for potting shed table.

Did you notice the name of the seller? Bet they're one of those "Storage Wars - Texas" type buyers.

Yooper32 05-16-2012 02:56 AM

I so wanted to call and just say, "in your dreams".

helenquilt 05-16-2012 04:18 AM

in Texas a lot of these are used as bases for picknik tables but even then it is way to high

Aurora 05-16-2012 04:41 AM

I bought one at auction for a friend, $5. Our agreement was that she wanted the base and I could have everything else. I took what was left of the cabinet apart, kept the hardware and the contents of the drawers, which included some useful notions and a brand new pair of Gingher scissors still in the package. I really made out on that deal.

Debra Mc 05-16-2012 07:31 AM

Dang I got three in the barn. Didn't know what I had.lol

ziegamomma 05-16-2012 08:54 AM

My SIL just bought a cleaned up, painted, with a faux marble top at Round Top Texas antique show for $40. I e-mailed the seller and told them their price is way too high!

So true !!

Chasing Hawk 05-16-2012 08:58 AM

A lot of people watch those shows....American Pickers, Storage Wars .....etc.

And think what they have is worth a fortune. If it was, it wouldn't be sitting in the yard gathering rust.

Latrinka 05-16-2012 09:15 AM

Nope, can't find no gold! Couldn't pay me to take it!

retta97 05-16-2012 10:39 AM

Maybe I could sell them the twin to it that my hubby found many years ago in a room that had been walled off where we rented and gave the stand to my mil and fil painted ( there wasn't any rust ) and sanded top and both of my inlaws have pasted I now have it in my living room for a stand. There is no way i think that anyone would pay that kind of money for a bottom that has that much rust or not! They may belive that they have gold but if no one buys its still just an old rusted stand.

Jingle 05-16-2012 11:19 AM

I guess you can't stop them from dreaming.

KathyPhillips 05-16-2012 01:10 PM

It is actually Ft. Worth. Very different from Dallas.
