I am looking for a way to do a zig-zag pattern. I saw a link to a site where 3 strips were joined and a rail fence-type section was cut from the strips. Then these sections were put together to get a zig-zag design. Hope I have explained this well enough that someone can help me. Thank you.

This http://beesquarefabrics.blogspot.com...t-without.html tutorial calls for two strips instead of three but it is easier than HST in many peoples opinion!

this sounds like Izzy's twisted Disappearing Nine Patch --there is a blog on this board for information on how to do.

simply do a search for subjects posted by Izzy

That quilt is on my to-do list. She makes it look so very easy.

I made one. If you can make the rail fence section (Just join 3 strips together and cut squares out of it) with 2 colors (I did white-red-white) you need a design wall to arrange the squares any way you want. You can make zig zag or basically any other arrangenet that comes to mind. I placed mine on point to make it more impressive and it looked great.

That's what I was looking for---thanks so much--thought I had the site bookmarked but guess I had another of those senile moments. LOL.
