I NEED to "clean out" or downsize my sewing room because I can;t even sew in there anymore.... :-( I have a TON of wonderful quilting magazines with a ton of patterns - the price (as you all know) was 5.99 - now, I am going to a "sewing rummage" sale and was wondering what you would think a good price would be to ask for them. I also have some never used packaged patterns - what price should I mark them down to? Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks

I'm afraid the magazines don't sell well, even at 25 cents. At least not in my area. I would rather contact a local school or senior center and see if they can use them. At least you could get a tax deduction for them.

Packaged items sold a bit better at 1/2 price.

Maybe you can sell them here, maybe in lots of 2 or 3? Don't know a price, maybe half off the cover? Just a suggestion. Garage sale....grammyp is right; you'll be lucky to get 25 cents for one.

or donate them to a quilt guild

Last weekend I bought about three dozen wonderful quilting magazines at a yard sale. They were priced at 3 for 25 cents. I was thrilled to get them and will share them with quilting friends, but I know that is disheartening to hear when they are so expensive to buy new.

I would put the patterns on here...I buy them at garage sales for .25cents each or less...down here they do sale pretty good.

At my guild everyone brings in quilt magazines to sell and none are ever over .25 most are .10. At most yard sales here the magazines are usually .50 a bundle. Unless you go the Ebay route you won't recoup much money from old magazines.

I was thinking by selling them on-line there is the shipping to deal with which definitely jack up the price. So it is the local route I must go. They are in EXCELLENT condition but thanks for all your help!

I go through my old magazines periodically and keep only those that have patterns or ideas I like and/or think I might use some day. The rest I donate to a local charity that teaches people how to quilt.
