Can you switch feet?

When I'm doing a long session of FM, I often switch to relieve the leg muscles. I can't do it with regular sewing though

I never think about which feet I use. Exactly the same with hands.

I can switch from my left foot to my right foot. I learned with using my right foot on the petal, but then I relearned using my left foot on the petal so I could use the knee lift that lifts the foot on the Bernina 1530. It takes a little practice but in your situation, I think you can do it !!

I am left-handed but use my right foot (!). Even when my right leg was hurt and I couldn't use it to sew I could not switch to my left foot. Weird.

If it works, go with it.

Hmmm, never tried.

I've allways sewn with my right foot. Several years ago, broke my toe and had a real sore foot. Tried using my left foot for the pedal and it felt weird. Sort of like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time.LOL

Yes, I use both. My husband told me he's been training to use his left hand for shaving, etc in case he has a stroke or can't use his right one. I keep thinking I should do that too, but I forget

Hah- I never thought about whether I'm left-footed. I am left handed. I think I'm going to try it. thanks!

But true confession - I HATE the foot pedal on my Janome and never use it unless FMQ for doing a really tricky seam.
