I am wanting to take part in the batik block swap and as with the other swaps you need to send return postage. Would other Canadians who participate in the swaps please let me know how the issue of the return postage is handled. I know that postage costs in the US are very different than in Canada so how do you calculate return postage and then how do you get that money to the person hosting the swap? I know that postal money orders in US funds can be very costly.

I have done it a couple of ways. I am in Windsor Ontario, so being close to the Detroit border, I have a couple of choices. The one I usually do is cross the border and mail it from a US post office with them weighing the package and then asking them how much it would cost to send from the beneifactor's address to mine.. I can't remember how much it cost me but I am participating in one right now and will not have time to get it mailed out on time to arrive at the swap benefactor's house. ( I was a bit of a procrastinator) I am fortunate that I will send it fedex overnight through my company and then I will put a return padded envelope inside it with my name and address on it and include US cash to pay to give to the beneficator to buy the correct postage..and mail it back to me . I think if you put in 12- 15 dollars US that will definately cover the cost... and if you request it they can put the change in your package. That way you will be sure to have enough to cover the cost of the blocks/swap you are getting back!

Thanks, I was wondering how much to include as well.
