Someone posted an article here about a quilt/throw they made for someone going through chemo. If anyone has the link to that topic please let me know. If anyone has a pattern for this type of quilt I would appreciate it. I have a coworker that was just diagnosed with her second cancer and wanted to make a something that would comfort her during her chemo treatments. Any help or suggestions would be helpful.

Hi - I think there have been several posted on here regarding 'chemo' throws. You could do a search for "comfort quilt', "chemo quilt", or maybe "cancer quilt" & perhaps find something.

Here is a link to one I did several months ago for my good friend Linda.

Sadly Linda did not win her battle w/Pancreatic cancer & died last month.

Hope you find something & good luck.

I have made several throws that I donate for cancer patients. I usually make mine around 50"x70-78", just depends on the pattern but I like them to cover the feet. There are lots of simple scrap quilts on this board that would work.

Thank you luv-e, was a blessing since she was suffering SO VERY MUCH by the end. Was really hard on her family to have to watch & althou sad to loose her, they were relieved for her to be out of the pain.

My only suggestion would be to back the quilt with a soft, warm backing (fleece, minky). My dad was always so cold when having his treatments and was comforted by the warmth of a quilt. I used Minky.

I like fleece to back a quilt, I finished a throw for my church to raffle off. I picked a print with different colors in it and also had inspirational messages. My next which is in the works is going to be an Ohio Star with different colors too. My own quilt is a mixture of purple, white and a green print which represents my walk with cancer.
