Can't stop looking at them!

Just got my order from Connecting Threads. I got the Botanical Garden and the spring batiks collection fat quarter sets and also a bag kit. The fabric is so gorgeous I cant stop looking and petting them, not only that but they added a little extra of the batiks. I love them so much not sure if I ever want to cut them up! Anyone else ever feel like this?

Yes, I bought every batik charm square that they had in Connecting Threads last year and then went back and bought some FQ and yardage. The fabric felt wonderful and looked fabulous so I am with you 1000%. They were just lovely.

Isn't it wonderful that something so simple as beautiful fabric can bring you much pleasure. Image a quilt made with that fabric and the love that is woven in every cut & stitch.

Being surrounded by quilt shops, I have never bought from Connecting Threads, though I enjoy their catalog and website and plan to when an opportunity arises. However, your pleasure in looking at the fabric is something I really understand. I've done the same thing, and sometimes keep fabrics quite a while before deciding what to do with it. Simple pleasures are the best and the craft of quilting provides us with so many!! We share your joy!

I ordered online from them Sunday evening and I had my order Tuesday evening! I got the Americana collection and the table runner kit.

I sometimes visit the quilt shop just to pet the fabric. I like to wander around and see what it new and what is on sale. I love it when someone is picking fabric for a quilt. Always like to see what someone else chooses! Fabric soothes the soul.

Agree with QuilterCDN, they need to be "married" together and become "one." Then you'll have twice the joy.

I was looking at the same line of fabrics. Aren't they beautiful! I love Connecting Threads. They are so easy to order from and delivery is always surprisingly fast. Enjoy your stuff.

a few weeks ago I ordered from connecting threads for the first time. my DD loves batiks so ordered some fqs for her & some new quilting needles - ( broke my "no buy" rule - lol, but didn't count since it was a gift. The shipping was fast & the fabric was so luscious - she was in fabric heaven. I will buy from them again.

Have to confess, I fondle my fabric, too! Fabric Fondlers. Unite!

I had a pile of pale batiks I had been collecting for something special. Not sure what that was but they were precious. I just made a quilt for my new GS who is due any minute. I had a really hard time cutting it up for his quilt. If my new GS isn't precious enough for my precious fabric collection I'm not sure who is. I still had a hard time cutting it up.
I totally understand!

I have a hard time getting out so I shop online and my favorite is Connecting Threads. I just love their fabric and the service is so fast. I drool when I get online and look and can't buy.

I've ordered twice now from Connecting Threads because of this board and each time I've been pleased. The fabric I've enjoyed using. A fabric can look good and feel good, but if it's a bear to work with I would soon not have it. I'm a pre-washer so sometimes it seems I get more strings than fabric which is not the case with the fabric I've gotten from Connecting Threads. I really like their thread, too. Thanks for introducing me to Connecting Threads.

I bought some, too, and they are great to sew with. I was never disappointed.

I swear they put something in fabric that just makes you want to touch AND buy! :)

I ordered from Connecting Thread for the first time, also. The fabric was beautiful and I couldn't believe how fast I got my order. However, 3 of the pieces were short. One was cut, I'm not sure how they did it, but one selvedge was the right length but when I put the selvedges together one was about 3 " too short. The material was folded straight and otherwise was good. That was about 3 weeks ago and don't know if it's too late to contact them. Anyone had a problem like this?

Yes! Just keep looking at it an petting them! Ideas will start to flow! I think we need to touch and feel the fabrics as a part of our nature.

sewfriendly..just contact them and they will make it right ...they are wonderful to work with.

I have enough fabric to stock my own quilt shop, neatly arranged on bookcases. I keep telling myself that I won't buy more until I sew quilts with what I have, but I just can't seem to pass up an extraordinary piece of fabric when I find one. And, yes, I love to just sit and look at my collection.

sewfriendly 04-21-2013 11:12 AM

Thanks, Susan. I didn't know if it was too late but I will try.
