Can't wait 'til Thursday!
 

A month or so ago I went to the local sewing machine dealer and played around on their machines trying to work out how much money I needed to save up. I completely fell in love with the juki hzl f400!
My mum recently received an inheritance from her aunt and has given me and my siblings some of it (what a lovely mum I have!), so now I can afford to buy my dream machine! Yipee!
She gave me enough to get the juki hzl f600 so I'm going to have a play on that too because it has a few extra features over the f400, but I'm not sure if I need those extras!
So on Thursday we will be taking a trip to the shop and hopefully coming away with either the f400 or the f600 :-) I couldn't be more excited!

Enjoy! Its funny how a new sewing machine can make such a difference. I mean, you sort of develop a relationship with them!!! If you know what I mean.

My Mom realized I was the creative child when I took sewing in 5th grade and bought me my first machine from Montgomery Ward in a cabinet. She also bought me my 2nd machine when I went away to college as a Home Economics major - a Singer which I used for more than 30 years until it finally was unfixable. Moms are the best for helping you find your passion!!!! Have fun with your new toy!!!!

How wonderful!!! I got my machine with an inheritance from my dad, I think of him each time I use my machine. Now you will always have wonderful thoughts of your mum & memories of your great aunt!

I have a Juki HZL F600 (I call her HaZeL). She's a fabulous machine! I love the automatic cutter, options for stitches, large throat space, and good lighting. I just quilted a king-sized quilt on her!! She purrs like a kitten. I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I have enjoyed mine!

I have the Juki 400 and love it! Know you will, too.

I have the Juki HZL F600 and love it. I'm guilty of not exploring everything, but am glad I chose the 600 vs. 400. I know there's plenty of room to grow with her and won't wish I'd gone to the 600. Just a little food for thought and either way, you'll love either machine. Congrats and enjoy!

I just bought a Juki TL2010Q and let me tell you - this is the most sturdy sewing machine I have EVER owned. I'm ready to sell all my other machines to buy one of the Juki HZL series for my other sewing (the 2010Q is a straight-stitch only machine). Good luck with your new machine!

CONGRATS!!! I am sew excited for you, I know what you mean about saving for a machine I'm in that boat now, still a long way to go :thumbdown:. But I just got my mothers machine out of storage and cleaning it up & realized I learned to sew on this machine over 40yrs ago with my Mom, she passed away 22yrs ago so this machine means the world to me and she still works like a pro.

I am so happy for you! A new machine is so very fun to get. Make sure they have a good warranty whichever one you choose. You never know.

I'm excited and happy for you. When you get an unexpected windfall like that, it's nice that your mum shared it with her kids so you can do something special for yourselves. Mums are like that, yes they are.

We all want to know which machine you came home with. I know you are busy playing, happy sewing.

I got the f600 in the end :-) she's lovely! Although she is a lot bigger than the cheap singer I was using before! I get a bit of a shock whenever I look into the sewing room!
I've only had time to have a little play so far, there are so many stitches I need to try! I did a bit of fmq on a practice sandwich, which came out really nicely compared to the old machine!
I think the excitement of getting it has caused a flare up of my cfs/me which is why I haven't had a real good play on it. It's a shame but I've got all the time in the world to get to know her properly :-)

Just rest up a bit, and she will be patiently waiting for you. I am so glad you made a decision and have her all ready and waiting!!
