Has anyone ever done the carpenter's star block in soft, muted colors? How did it turn out. Is there enough contrast for the star to show?
I'm thinking of doing one in yellow, aqua and cream.

Here is an antique carpenters star that I am restoring. It is in pretty good shape but am redoing the binding. The colors are so pretty. I am going to make one and try to duplicate the colors as best I can. Lots of light pastel colors in this one. So yes the soft colors would work very well with this pattern. Patricia

I posted a picture of my carpenters wheel done in blues, browns, and creams. See it at "I Made One" in the pictures. I think your colors would do fine.
