Okay I am making a carpenters wheele pattern and I am stumped. I can do the center in two ways first way is the "normal" way with the center being essentially a quarter turn off from the outer ring. Or have it be like a chunk was taken out of the "spoke" in a manner of speaking. What do you guys think? Will add pics in a few min from my phone of what I am talking about.

Either way is fine, you just need to reverse the outside ring in the second picture.

But that is my question of do I have to turn the outer ring or is it okay to leave it the way it is in the second pic?

You don't have to do anything. If you like it, do it.

Do what pleases you. It's your quilt....be creative:) I like them both!

It's your quilt, but I find the "normal" way to ''set better" with me.

My eye seems to travel around the "normal" way - and I pause at the "clumps" in the other one.

Normal way for me.
