casserole carrier

What is used for the insulating material in casserole carriers? I thought it should be Insul Brite but I cannot get it locally. Is there another product that I can use?

Thank you.

100% cotton batting. Warm and Natural has a poly scrim. Quilter's Dream has some heavier weights of 100% cotton batting and you could use two layers.

Casserole carriers were made for years before insulbrite became available. So, other battings, old towels, ... work just fine (cotton recommended). Several layers are helpful to insulate your hands.

Thanks to both of you. I have some old towels and I will use those.

Does JAF not allow Insul-Bright to be shipped to Canada?? I bought mine online when it was on sale.
