cathedrial window quilt
 

i am wanting to make a cathedrial window quilt i want to fussy cut the centers to 3 1/4 in does anyone know how i can figure out what size to cut the squares that i have to fold so the 3 1/4 in will work in there

what size are you starting with that leaves the 3 NS 1/4 in center?

It starts with a 12.5 inch square for the 'background' and a 4 inch square for the 'focal' fabric. Good luck!

thanks i want my focal fabric to be 3.25 so maybe a 12 in sq i need to be kind of precise because the focal fabric i am going to use is a cheater dear jane so it is blocks so i want to whole block to show i guess i could just try one and see just did not know if anyone knew the forumla

Don't use your focus fabric, use scraps until you have it right.
