I guess I better check my wheels, because I am not careful about keeping thread off the floor.

I have a Swiffer dust buster with an extend handle I use when the others hitch a ride on Brutus as he walks out the door.

I don't have a problem with it either as I keep a paper lunch bag taped to my table to drop thread trimmings in. It stays open and when full - just toss it in the garbage.

I also have this problem. My chair stopped rolling all together. Fortunately, I have two chairs. I am much more careful with my loose threads now.

I use either a razor blade or my seam ripper - or a combination of both - to cut threads out of my vacuum cleaner. Maybe this would help with your wheels.

Every several months I flip my chairs over and spend way too much time clipping and pulling out all the stupid little threads and dog hair that make it so my wheels don't turn. I actually broke one of my wheels because I did not clean it out and it would not turn any more.
I guess it's just something that need to be done now and then

I also have wheels on my chair. I try to clean them out before they get too stuffed in there.

The best way to prevent the loose threads issue (they end up all over me otherwise) is to use leaders and enders. As you end a seam, run a small piece of fabric under the needle, then cut your finished piece off that small piece (easier to show you than to tell you!). That way you always have a little piece under your needle and foot and NO LOOSE THREADS TO CUT!!!

Even better, you can keep a basket of scrap squares or unpieced units by your machine and use those for your leaders and enders...I do this with light and dark squares. They are sewn together bit by bit that way and eventually each to another etc. until you have rows for a scrap quilt.

Although I use a thread catcher and trash can nearby, I still get threads. I will every several months flip the chair and use my seam ripper to cut the ones out. I'm trying to get better of vacuuming more often.
