I am learning so much on this site. I was having trouble with stitches on a project. Also thread was breaking. Then I remembered reading on here to change the machine needle often. I did and whoope.....problem gone. I am a newbie and love this site. The only bad thing is I spend too much time here...I just can't seem to get enough..lol

Glad you were able to get help. I think all of the members have learned one thing or another from a member of this forum.

And remember, the old needle, if you didn't bend it,- can be pounded into the wall to hang a picture on.A client swore by her needles said they would support 10lbs.! Just angle them a little, don't think they would work on plaster, just drywall!

A tip I picked up was to change your needle every time you have wound 10 bobbins! Another was an average of every 8 sewing hours, me I change them for every time I quilt a new project or when I feel that I need to

To me there is no set rule, you can after a time feel and hear when you need to change them also where I buy needles they are only £10 for 100 needles, Organ brand which are great so I can be rather frivolous with them :-P

A thing to remember, as my Machine supplier told me, up to70% of machine problems are caused by needle problems
