changing light on HQ sixteen?
 

Have any of you who own an older HQ sixteen had to have changed the lights on the front handle bars?? Mine have gone out a little at a time so now they are all gone. I don't find much info on the net about how to change/replace them. I have good lights in the room and I quilt from the back, but need those light for threading and when I am checking my work.

Was thinking about ordering an Led strip to adhere to the throat of the machine. Would like to hear ideas.

Why not phone HQ?

I have heard that they are very good at staying with you as they guide you through working on one of their machines.

My experience with their Customer Service people has been second to none.
While I have never had the opportunity to take advantage of this support, they did speak of it, when I talked with them.

I bought a led strip lighting kit from a quilt shop that is usually for the throats of your domestic sewing machine. My husband attached it under the handlebars to give me extra lighting as I have poor eyesight. It works great and was only $29.99.

I have the Fusion. I bought the lighting strip, but still have not attached it.

I keep my micro handles on all the time, just tilted back so they are out of the way. They have extra lights and they are right down by the needle.

I normally have to turn the wheel so the needle is at it's highest, and recently learned to wet my finger and put it firm against the back side of the needle. I can see they hole so much better with my finger against it, and it seems like the thread goes into the needle hole easier that way. I put the end of the thread to the hole and pull my other finger back, and it sort of pulls the very end of the thread with it.

Probably not describing it well, but it's made threading my needle much less of a chore.

I am using a gadget that I found at a hospital gift store..it is a magnifier with a light that goes on with a button. It really helps.
