When you do charity quilts, do you add your name on the label or a label at all? Just wondering....
I just do something generic, and mention my state (prefecture?) Something like made with love from Michigan, or someone in Michigan cares... and the date.
I do.
I just embroider Made with Love somewhere on the quilt
Sometimes I do.
you should add a label to every quilt you make!
charity quilts usually want at least name of the quilt, your last name, city, state, date. i usually add fiber content and care instructions. |
I sew a small label between backing and batting with my name, city and date. We have embroidered labels for our quilt ministry at church that go on the back.
The LInus Project actually has small fabric labels that we sew on each quilt. They then attach a cardstock label that mentions the Projects statement and can include the makers name and address. The donor can choose to include their personal information or not.
if you are giving to an oganzation then ask what their requrements are. A local hospital has a label to put on the quilt. However, I always put my initials in a corner even when I use their label. Or just initial and last name.
I am cautious about putting too much personal infrmation on qulted things I give away. Usually just the initials. |
I use my quilting name and location.
