how big a quilt does 1 charm pack make? And what is a "layer cake" I just figured out what a turn over, hunny bun and Jelly roll was LOL I am so behind the times.

A charm pack is usually 40- 5 inch squares so an 8 x 5 square quilt would finish-336" x 22.5". Layer cakes are 40- 10" squares.

The size of the pack depends on the fabric line.. I've seen them that have anywhere from 24 to 40 5" squares.

Thank you, your right, each do vary. The site I am thinking, Mission Star, of does not even state how many are in the pack. Hummm. I am going to have to do some looking around.

Hey just noticed the typo it's 36 x22.5 and yes I think it depends on fabric lines, too.
