Carrie Nelson is the designer, she has a good new book out - Schnibbles Times Two. Lots of her great quilt patterns made with charm packs AND for larger sizes with layer cakes. :)

I've been making table runners with the little twister tool. I use 40 or less squares depending on the size runner I want to make. Some I have made 4 rows of ten some I believe are like 35 squares. I will see if I can post a picture.

LeAnn Weaver and claudia Plett have written 2 books using 5" squares - Loose change and More Loose Change. they are really good books. They are both friends of mine and I love all their quilts. LeAnn's website is persimmonquilts.com.

Maureen 12-17-2010 06:17 AM

wow, thgats beautiful. Did you sash it diagonally? Looks like it.

PearlieMarch 12-17-2010 06:43 AM

yes I did, cut the charm in half then half again. Then added the border between the triangles with a small square in the middle.

Cut on either side of the seams, reverse the narrow sections, and sew it together as a 9-patch.

Here's what I did with 5x5 inch squares. My daughter gave them to her friend fer her babies for Christmas and they loved them. Both have flannel backings.

Thanks! I make them on the computer and print on those sheets of fabric meant for a printer. You can find all kinds of free labels to download online. I know Connecting Threads has some. You can also use post card templates in Publisher for cute designs. So far there have been no problems with the labels and washing. I always follow the directions to make the ink permanent.

Thank you so much for the idea to make professional looking labels. I had been writing on mine and didn't think they looked too good. I'm trying your idea.

Maureen 12-19-2010 05:03 PM

These quilts are beautiful
