You probably have this one, in your desk drawer! A letter opener! Yep, letter opener! Today while opening & paying bills, I had a light bulb moment. Thought to myself" It wouldn't hurt to try it". So, I pulled some stash and sewed up this sample. Wahlah, it cut like butter. The best part they were free.

That's a cool idea. Hope the bank doesn't have a run on these cutters! Will have to check the office supply store for one.

Great idea, who would have thought it, except a crafter.

I have one from the phone company that I "liberated" when I retired! Thanks for showing the chenille technique. I was wondering how that worked.

I find these letter openers at about every business. If you don't see them ask if the business has them. I got one from the bank, insurance company, hardware store, and pharmacy. And they are very inexpensive to buy.

Thanks! I think I just found a use for those Harbor Freight carpet cutters too. Haven't tried it yet but looks promising.

I tried the Harbor Freight cutter for cutting batting from the roll and it did not work. I think because the blade is on the top and needs to be on the bottom to get the leverage to cut. Maybe I could turn it upside down next time?

nellie 08-31-2010 09:53 AM

don,t let the secert get out for what were using them for or they will sell out like FH blades just say opening mail lol

Sharonsews 08-31-2010 10:58 AM
