Do with it what you want. Depending on the pattern, you could go ahead and make a quilt for a future emergency or donation. If you want to use it for a backing go ahead. No quilt police on this board. Or save for a fussy cut. Whatever your choice may be.

I agree, do what you want with it, it's yours.

I have 2 pieces which join together to make a double bed quilt. I'm waiting for the winter to sit and hand quilt with a poly batting.it is a line star pattern
If the pattern was squares or something which could quilt with . Mine would not go as a backing. |
I used mine for a class that needed 9 completed blocks - I cut it apart, bordered the pieces with another fabric then sashed them and sewed them back together - you would never know it was made from cheater blocks! I want to practice my quilting on it.

Do you like the cheater cloth pieces? If so then go ahead and play around with different ideas to finish. If you really like them then use as a front or a back on a reversible quilt.
If you don't like them then just find a way to use them even if that means charity quilting. |
gosh- I hate that term! what is Cheating about using a panel? is it not just another printed cotton fabric to be incorporated into a project- like any other cotton print? I've used panels in quilts that took a lot of work, thought, creativity...I did not 'Cheat' anything!

I used a bunch of this stuff as the top, used a sheet on the back and polyester batting and machine quilted them. These were quick and inexpensive quilts and perfect for my kids to drag on sleep overs, to the hockey rink, to summer camp and to lay out on the lawn in the summer and watch the stars. There were washed frequently and really dragged around and no one worried about them. I've also used this type of printed fabric as a back and it's great as it is often extra wide.

These would be great to practice FMQ and then donate to a local charity....
