I just got a flyer from Tues. Morning and you can get a 2010, brand new, Athena Singer sewing machine for $199.

Now, why would you think you get could get this much for a 10 year old, un-collectable machine? http://sacramento.craigslist.org/art/1969679970.html

Sometimes, we think our stuff is so much more valuable than reality!

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for the whole shebang.

It says estate sale, so they probably have no idea what the machine is worth.

You & me both Candace, $20 is about what I would give them too! They have just as nic, if not nicer at the thrift stores on any given day!

All it takes is a quick google or check of ebay to see what it would be reasonable.

Maybe they think that just because it's a Singer that it's automatically worth lots of money. LOL I think $30 would be my top offer, since the cabinet's in good shape.

My idea is they think because it's old it's priceless.

Someone had an older Singer on our Craigslist for 1,000.00. I thought it wasa typo, but they had another older one, NOT a Singer for $500.00!

Sigh...I am still stinging from being the second person in line for a Gammill a gentlemen was selling (was his wife's)...

Price: $1,000

What do you bet this ad was placed by someone under 25-30 years old and to them this IS an antique!! LOL!

Not me, but someone ought to respond to the email address in a few days and see if they've gotten any bites, just out of curiosity.
