I was standing in (a loooooooooong) line at Michael's today and saw a chenille cutter on sale for $15. It looked like the carpet cutter handle I bought with the 45mm rotary blades at Harbor Freight. I've never used a chenille cutter. Think it would work the same way?

I am not sure how a carpet cutter works but a chenille cutter enables you to cut through several layers while not cutting the bottom one. It is kind of like a rotory cutter with it's own built in cutting mat.

Here is a pic. It looks like it has a little "mat" below it to me. Your thoughts?

Looks like that would work as a chenille cutter to me...

Give it a test run, how wide is the bottom? chinelle cutter I have is less than a 1/4 inch, The look is cool but I don't use it? Maybe one day :)
