How many have made chenille quilts.

I have made two and really enjoyed doing them.....the only step-back is the final cutting between the stitching.

Sure gives one aching fingers!!!!!

They are lap size and one can make them in one solid color or any variety of hues...

Just wanted to know how many others have made them.

i started by making a small wall hanging with the sheep fur in chenille. i need more practice. i had been explaining the process to my daughter and, for Christmas, she gave me an electric scissors to do the cutting. i've not gotten back to chenille :)

I've made a couple of chenille rugs, I use them in my bathrooms. Need to get busy making more as I get many requests for them :) :) I used a chenilling tool, very similar to a rotary cutter/seam ripper it has a long guide on the front and the blade in the back for easier/safer cutting

Chenille is my "THING" right now! I LOVE it! You don't have to stay with just a single color either-you can put all sorts of cool designs in it! For this one, I put the heart in the 4th of 6 layers. Next time I'll put it as the top layer and spray baste it like crazy - easier to control.

I also use the chenille cutter, most LQS's carry them.

hudgoddess...How did you get all your lines going in one direction.

My chenille lap quilt directions have all the cutting lines coming from the middle and out to the edges, which gives it a pivot point from the center point.

Here is a picture of mine to explain better. I really like the look of your quilt. Could you give a pictorial tutorial?
