Chevron Quilt??

What size of blocks should I use for a nice chevron quilt? I am making one for my granddaughter for her high school graduation next year. She doesn't want giant chevrons and I don't want little bitty ones either.

I use 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" (finished) blocks for a baby quilt. I also found a pattern here:http://modernhandcraft.com/2014/01/i...rial-giveaway/ I ended up cutting the squares down to a 4 1/2" size. As the blocks were just too big for a baby quilt. But, they finish at 6" squares and should be a nice size for a young adult. (Also, you can just leave out the heart rows and make them all zig zags if you prefer.

Here is a link to the baby quilt I made for my granddaughter. The squares on this one are finished at 4 1/2". It will give you sort of a size scale to compare.http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...y-t264670.html

I've also used blocks that finish at 4 1/2" for a chevron quilt and am very happy with the result.
