I really like the bold blue/orange colors together and less white, too. Here are a couple of quick photos of the baby quilt top I made. I did the white in between on mine. I've been doing a lot of scrappy quilts lately with little pieces and I love the simplicity of this one. The individual HSTs are 4" finished. The red bandana fabric is my favorite.

Oh, Laura, I love this quilt!! I hope mine turns out half as cute. I really appreciate the picture, as I have been trying to figure out how many rows and "points" to have in my quilt. This really helps. My HST will also be 4 inches finished. Thanks for sending a picture!!

I just finished the top of a chevron quilt that my daughter wanted in light grays and yellows. I put white on white fabrics between the chevron rows and it really looks nice. If I could ever figure out how to post a picture I would post it here for show and tell. But, have tried to post pics many times and it just doesn't work out. Sure wish it was an easier process. Don't know why your 3 fabrics wouldn't work out in a chevron too.

Well, I am still progressing here. In about an hour, I will begin to think about borders. I know most of the chevron quilts I have seen don't have borders, but I like borders. I have used all my orange, and I know I have enough blue for an outer border. I have about a dozen ideas to play with, and still....I sit here reading the Board instead of sewing.
At any rate, here is where I am... Dina |
Looking good!! I did Black, white and read and finished it with a narrow, foldy thing of red and then a border that was basically black background with red. I wish I had taken pictures of all the charity quilts I made about 10 years ago, but oh well I know better now.

Hey, Dina, it looks terrific! I'm anxious to see what you do for the border. :-)
