Chicago - here I come!
I'll be visiting family this week and spending a day at the Int'l Quilt Festival in Chicago - any suggestions regarding local shops to visit while in the area? Thanks in advance for your ideas

I live in Chicago's western suburbs and will also be at the Quilt Festival next weekend.
Some local stores I like are: Thimbles in Lockport Quilters Quest in Woodridge Prairie Stitches quilt shop in Oswego Roberts Sewing Center in Crest Hill Quiltfabric.com just closed, sadly |
No suggestions but have a great time. It's put on by the same people who put the International Quilt Festival in Houston on. I've always wanted to go to the Chicago show.

Thank you Elise! I was just on the Quilters Quest website before I jumped back here and saw your list of recommendations. I'll be in Lisle so not too awful far from any of the above shops. Last visit to Chicago included a wedding in Oswego so I'm familiar with the location. I hope you enjoy your time at the show!
Patrice - I'm sure it will be a fun day :) I purposely arranged my visit to coincide with the show and my cousin (who doesn't quilt but does needlepoint) has agreed to spend as much time at the show as I wish! My plan is to 'test drive' the Bernina 770QE and every long arm machine I can get my hands on :D I'm really excited to see the quilts entered in the show too - I'm sure they will be amazing. Houston is on my bucket list - someday! Christine |
