Chicken Tracks??
A few years ago someone showed us how to make "chicken tracks" to tie down a quilt. Now that I'm ready to use them I can't find them. I put chicken's on my quilt and I'd like to put 4 or 5 footprints behind them, as if they walked in mud and left a trail. I don't know how chickens walk. Can anyone help?

I believe the term you are looking for is turkey tracks. Here is the tute from the QB on how to do this stitch

I remember my mother doing Chicken Scratch on gingham check fabric. Any and every color and use of embroidery thread made the most beautiful aprons! She also put it on little girls dresses!

Thank you, feline fanatic. That's exactly what I was looking for.

MrsClaas, one of the ladies in our club brought in a beautiful tablecloth and matching valance made on the gingham, and she did call it Chicken Scratch. She taught us how to do it - what fun!

I have a very old McCall's (huge) magazine with a project of chicken scratch on the gingham aprons. It is a four seasons of designs. I loved that project. So fun to do. I also enjoyed doing the swedish cross stitch on hardranger. Thanks for reminding me about it girls. That is a fond memory.

I remember doing that - just google search "Chicken Scratch" embroidery and there are a lot of videos to show you how.
