childrens quilt patterns

Hi fellow quilters............I make play mats for charity so I try to keep them simple. No applique. I have sail boats, elephants, jigsaw puzzle, skateboards. What else is free out there that I can try. I make them in the 38" square size approx. I am going to do wonky houses. I would like a simple butterfly and airplane. Any help would be appreciated...........there must be all sorts of things that my brain hasn't even thought of.

quilters cache.com has some nice blocks you could use and they are free to download.

What about this one with Bow Ties by Moda Bake Shop:

There's also this one by CreativeBug that is just 30 2.5" strips from a Robert Kaufman Rainbow jelly roll (or substitute with whatever jelly roll you like). Super easy!!! You don't even need instructions.

That Play Ball quilt is adorable. I make children's charity quilts and have often done just 40" single block designs to fill the entire square. Churn dash is one block that lends itself nicely to this idea.

I think that the fabric used really makes the quilt for a child interesting. I love Warm Wishes. So easy and quick to make.
