choosing a patern for long arm quilting

What quilting pattern works best for Log Cabin Diamond Star quilt top?

Because that is busy piecing, I would choose something "overall" that just does it's own thing, on top of the diamond star design. You could do a stipple or looped stipple... or if you want something "orderly", maybe a Baptist fan pattern would be just the thing.

Is that the one with the huge eight pointed star in the center, with other star pieces radiating out from behind it? If so, I'd say custom quilted if you're up for that, if not, just a simple curvy all over pattern that isn't showy (because it will be hard to see) and won't compete with the piecing, which is the star of the show.

If this is the pattern I'm thinking it is I'd custom quilt it. I have one on my design wall right now waiting for the sashing to be put on before I finish the corners with radiating sections. I found some diamond shaped quilt patterns to fit the blocks perfectly but then I'm also using robotics too so if you're doing FM all power to you as I envy those that can do FM. I'm just not one of them due to shaky hands which are getting worse as I get older. I'm hoping to get all the quilts I have listed to do as gifts before my hands get too bad.
