I am doing a baby quilt for a friends grandbaby. It has a center panel that has fish and crabs in it. The panel is about 21 inches square, and then there are 3 1/2" squares all the way around. The squares are red, gold, orange and green, to match the fish and crabs and such. I want the quilting in the squares to stand out, but not sure what color thread I should use.
I know if I posted a picture it would help more, but I don't have a camera right now. Thanks |
You could use blue to signify water :)

I like the idea of blue

I have started using variegated colors and I no longer question the thread matching the quilt as the thread matches two, or more, colors. How 'bout blue to white, or orange to white, or 4 blues mixed?

I like to use variegated threads and if you used a thicker thread it would stand out.
