Christmas came early and will come again ......
This past week I had a friend come over to visit. As she came in she told her daughter to bring it all in. Ok by then I was wondering what the heck????? She held the door while her daughter brought in 7 large boxes of fabric. YIPPIE!!!!!! I almost fainted. When she left she said to just wail til the next visit. She has 11 more boxes to bring. Can you believe it? I have never been to her house as I don't drive well anymore. But she said she has 4 storage buildings full of nothing but fabric and she needs to clean out. I was so shocked that I forgot to take pictures. BUt next time I will not fail. hehehhehee:D

Wow! Lucky you! Enjoy!
Awesome friend! I bet she felt good sharing too :)
That was so kind of her.
Wow, that is so nice!!!!!!
Seven toteboxes?! And eleven more to come?!!? Wow.
Congrats on your score, and on having such a generous friend. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures! I sometimes wish we could radio tag some of the fabric in our stashes, and then follow it around as it gets traded from one person to the next. Maybe we could get a grant and get David Attenborough to do a TV special on "fabric migrations" through the generations... Alison |
Wow, congratulations!
WOW!! And she has 4 storage building with fabric in them still?
How wonderful for you! |
How very lucky you are to have a wonderful friend like her.
wow... you'd better get sewing!!! LOL
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! You have a GREAT friend.
Congratulations on the haul and for having such a fabulous friend!

Allison- I Love the idea of "fabric migrations"- traveling within a sewing circle, then being sent out to someone in another state, and so on.
NoiseyNana- Be careful you don't get overwhelmed. I'd hate to see you on Hoarders, pinned down by a pile of fabric! You might need a mansion and a stable of washing machines. I was gifted some fabric and batting and it came with silverfish! Now all fabric goes straight into the washer. I sometimes wish we could radio tag some of the fabric in our stashes, and then follow it around as it gets traded from one person to the next. Maybe we could get a grant and get David Attenborough to do a TV special on "fabric migrations" through the generations... Alison[/QUOTE] |
Oh lucky you!! That makes me want to get into my sewing room and star stitching!!

You have a generous friend - there is an ad in my paper today for five 30 gallon totes of fabric - only $1,000.00!
What an awesome friend you have and very generous, especially since you don't drive well anymore. I cannot picture 4 storage buildings of fabric though - and my husband says I have too much fabric. LOL. Have a blast going through all that fabric.
Lucky you. You will never have to buy fabric again.
Did she own a fabric store? How did she accumulate so much fabric? Good for you!

Sounds like you need to start building storage buildings:thumbup:
That is wonderful; I love to see posts of this nature. Is your mind going overtime now on what you are going to do with your unexpected stash? I am teaching a young woman to quilt with all my fabric overload. She can't believe her good luck and I feel so smart you can't believe it when we have a sewing lesson.
How exciting for you! Have fun!
