Christmas fabric score!

So many Christmas fabrics look not-so tasteful to me, so I was pleased to find these at G'will: total of about 11 yards for $10! And this printed vest caught my eye with the birch tree fabric - think I will incorporate the animals and the birch trees into a manly lap quilt with some muted plaids. Cheap fun!

Very nice find. I like the idea of the manly quilt you are planning.

Fantastic purchase! I never thought of shopping at Goodwill for fabric!

CookyIN 02-28-2014 10:39 AM

I never find fabric at my local Goodwill stores. Am happy for you!

Definite score! I love the idea you have for the vest panel and the matching birch tree print. Toss in some solid grays and you will have a real winner.

The ones on the left look much nicer than what i saw out this year. Love the blue one at the top, especially. :)

hugs,
Charlotte

Nice! Especially the wolves and the trees. I don't know if our Goodwill has fabric. When my husband goes in, I wait in the car. Guess I'll need to check it out next time!

Nice find. These are the sort of Christmas fabrics I gravitate to. Your planned manly quilt sounds great.

Terrific score. I have a friend that goes to Good will and Salvation Army and always gets these fabulous scores. I go, wander around and can't find anything!

The Goodwill stores are usually higher price than non-profit ones around here. I stopped going to Goodwill.

Congrats on your find. Can never find fabric at our Goodwill, not sure if one of the employees get it before it makes it to the floor or I don't go often enough.

jmoore 03-02-2014 04:50 AM

how lucky for you... great price and nice fabric.

What beautiful fabrics you found! The Pinwheels are my favorite...picnic cloth or table runner or whatever your heart desires. Have fun quilting with your wonderful fabrics.

pocoellie 03-02-2014 07:10 AM

You got a great deal!!!

shasta5718 03-02-2014 08:16 AM

Good for you. I found the entire wolf panel at Marshall's dry goods. If you like it, you may want to check and see if they still carry them. They had it in two colors.

RedGarnet222 03-02-2014 09:22 AM

Great score! I am looking forward to seeing what you make from them.

MargeD 03-02-2014 09:47 AM

You could definitely do a "manly" quilt with those fabrics. I think you had a great score at Goodwill. Congratulations.

wraez 03-02-2014 10:09 AM

Love LOVE Love the snowmen fabrics and the tree fabric is a great one too ... yes that is a wonderful treasure you found!

JanieH 03-02-2014 01:21 PM

Love your find - congratulations!

roserips 03-02-2014 01:26 PM

Nice fabric score. I have noticed for the last several years they have been trying to change the colors of Christmas with bright Pinks and Purples, Lime green, Turquoise. I am a traditionalist I guess with Red and Green. Like your ideas for a lap quilt.

mimiof4 03-02-2014 04:20 PM

The best fun is cheap fun! lol

Being just 1 year new to quilting I went in search of Christmas fabric on clearance since Christmas was over, I did manage to find a couple of yards for $2.99. It finally dawned on me that quilters buy all Holiday fabric year round to get a jump on the Holiday quilters...Yep I'm a newbie :p
