How cute.. I love the idea.. may just try some of those.. Do you use a yard of fabric and just make a square?? And then add a pocket.. ?

I make a lot of presents. Everyone loves them. Home made
is not cheap figure the time and material. This year pillow
cases.table runners and doll quilts.

I have been making most of my Christmas gifts for years. Most of the family now have quilts that I made. The grandkids seem to like the flannel PJ's, or nightgowns. One of my grandsons is 6ft5in and it's easier to make him pj pants than find them to buy. Table runners, mug rugs, wall hangings. Others probably have other ideas. Good luck.

I have made all my Christmas gifts for years. Even my jam I make every year. I think everyone would be shocked to get a bought one from me & they all love them. Some even complain if they don't get the jam. DH's boss always says that my jam is the best gift he ever gets from any of his employees. All the ladies are getting oven dresses this year. The men will get the jam.

I haven't read everybodies responses but you have a great question that I have been thinking about. I'm getting ready to make a bunch of mug rugs for gifts. I think everyone will appreciate them because they know I'm a quilter and everybody I know is worried or struggling financially.

I don't make all of my gifts. But I try to make something for everyone.

I have always wanted to make pj's for Christmas. Then I don't because I am not sure of the fitting. I do not want the crotch to hang down to the knees (I have done that one). How can I make pj.s that fit without taking a gazillion measurements and kinda keep it a surprise? This is my first posting, I am not sure how I retrieve the answer to my question

Our family decided a few years ago that Christmas wasn't just about giving gifts. If we have something to give, we
give it. If we don't, nobody says a word. I make homemade
also...most of the things you all have mentioned. I did make some clever things a yr or so ago; they are called "Roly Nesters". There are three sizes and smallest fits inside the middle size..middle size fits then into the
larges size. They are zippered openings. They do look kinda rounded, hence the name. It was a free pattern on the
internet. You might google it and see if it still comes up.
I can't tell you how many of these sets I made. Then I
started picking up neat pieces from my abundant stash and
making them up as singles..in various sizes. Even made
about 20 for each gal in our church group. I took them to
the Dec get-together in a pop flat and let them pick one.
They loved it.
I, too am starting on aprons next Jan for Christmas 2012.
Actually 10 of them, for family. I don't like to push
towards a deadline, so I try to work ahead. I run short on
ideas for the guys. Seems there is always something interesting for the gals.
