I'm making gift card holders. They are so fun and I always give gift cards so this works for me. I'm thinking of putting a ribbon hanger on some of them so they can use as ornaments if they want to.

What a shame cause handmade gifts mean so much to me! I have for the last 2yrs. made all my christmas gifts. If they didn't like them nobody said. It is always a challenge to me to come up with clever items to make.

I am actually giving fabric. I have been listening all year to family/friends talk about what they might like and I have been purchasing it all along. I know they did not buy for themselves so am excited that they will be surprised.

Quilts, lap quilts,Fleece loung pants, robes, cookies, and I just hope they get as much joy out of them as I do in making them!!!

I have one quilt top done and mailed to Charisma for LAing, one top done to quilt on my DSM. I've made journal covers and will make book marks for them and pens to put in the front pocket. I've made three jersey knit fringe pillows for little girls. Will try to get a few more simple gifts done in the next couple of weeks (mug rugs, microwave bowl pads) before I have back surgery. Then will probably be out of commission for the rest of the year.

Not there yet. Planning on making some of those glitzy high heeled and fur trimmed christmas stockings for a two friends, some bags for the others and beach bags for the DDs. And then the very special friends get fruit cakes. DD made 5 last week and they are in the linen closet maturing. My annual leave starts early in December and, before we leave for the coast, I'll have two weeks at home for glorious sewing!

So far, I've made a table runner, 2 dresden plate wall hangings, 2 carpenter square wall hangings, and now I'm working on a tree skirt. I have another table runner and 6 place mats to finish up. Tops are done, just need to sandwich, and finish the top stitching.

I have many scheduled in my head it's getting them done that I'm not so sure about. Right now I'm working on doing Christmas ornaments and an angel tree topper; they are all created by making free standing lace on my embroidery machine. This weekend I'm starting on my daugther's tree skirt; it has embroidered blocks on it and each block will have one of the cars from the Christmas Circus Train and I'll put her, her fiancee, and her 2 kids names on it as well. I'd also like to do some towels up for them. I'm embroidering clock faces to put on pre-bought clocks as well. Oh, and I got some plain terry bibs and I'm going to put sayings on it for my granddaughter; one of which will be what she calls me; GiGi, you can't get those at the store. These are the things that I'm sure I'll get done and I won't go into all of the things that I want to get done.

New quilts for my grandchildren..Gabi gets one with flowers and Zach gets one with the "CHICAGO Bull"..Just need to do the binding on hers and his is at the LAQer as of yesterday! I am working on a Christmas quilt for me but suspect it will be for Christmas 2012 or 2013!

BluegrassGurl 11-09-2011 06:49 AM

2 quilts that I have been working on since July... whew....

A red/white/blue log cabin for my Dad.
"Summer at Mom's" for my Mom. This one has over 50 pinwheels in it.... plus appliqued vines. Time intensive.

I had planned to have the quilt tops done by the end of October and get them quilted this month... running behind.
