does anyone make any quilted Christmas ornaments? I usually add a new ornament to our tree for our kids each year and thought it would be neat to make them something this year....

We chatted about these--but I thought I'd toss a photo out there.

Barnbum, those are cute log cabin ornaments. Are the backs plain?
I would like to make some for the grandchildren. It looks like they might be made from one inch strips. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.... Piecefully yours, Kay Susan |
Kay--I just checked--they were made with 1.25" strips, the finished piece is 3.75" square. The backs are one piece--a Christmas fabric. There's batting in the middle, and everything was tied so it resembled a miniature quilt. My students have gotten them for two different years. (But this year they're getting bookmarks.) Everything has to be very small print, except the back. I liked one color combination so much, I made several and made a small wall hanging for a door.

Karla, thank you for the reply. I will go to review my stash of Christmas prints as soon as I finish this reply.
I need something which will be easy to do tomorrow. Right now, I am confined to the house because I am recovering from some asthma challenges and a bacterial infection in my lungs. I am improving, but have not had the energy to sew. I will sew tomorrow and relax. Monday will be here before I know it, and I really do want to go back to work!! Happy Thanksgiving..... Piecefully yours, Kay Susan |
Those are so cute. I always try to use unbreakable ornaments on my tree so the cats won't break them. Think I'll make some like these.
