Christmas panel suggestions
2 Attachment(s)
Bought this Christmas panel.....have not made a quilt with a panel.....on my list of quilts to make....have these fabrics on hand.....suggestions for a border or maybe something else in fabric choices!

One thing I would do is use a few solid or small prints that read as solids between the larger prints. A small 1 inch border that would measure out as 1/2 inch helps to give a framed effect.

IMO the fabric at the bottom right doesn't look right. The other two might work - as second border. I agree with the above comments that you need a small solid border. Maybe red for the grey fabric or use the grey fabric for a small border with the red/black as main border? Take a picture of both options (or any other). That usually helps me to decide on borders!

First place I would look is at the fabric manufacturer's website. usually they have patterns for using their panels. If not, I go looking at images found in Google:

Nice choice of fabrics to go with the panel.

These are all lovely colors - I would personally add some solid fabrics, to compliment the patterns in the choices.

I would do a rail fence border. Easy. Putting the dark between the 2 lights, plus you could rotate them so you, no
seams to match. |
